Alyna Lyndberg is from Ukraine. She volunteered for the project at the suggestion of her government. She is Ukraine's hope to repel her Russian oppressors and one day regain Crimea as part of their country.

Alyna has been combined with a Komodo dragon. She has retractable claws in her oversize hands. Alyna loves to fight. No one knows yet if her bite is toxic, but it is assumed so.

Alyna trains with metal barrels. They sharpen her claws and keep them honed to laser-like efficiency.

Alyna is a successful hybrid who can integrate with normal humans without raising suspicion.

We first meet Alyna in Book 2 of The Human-Hybrid Project, Inside the Darkness.

Paolo Leveen has been successfully combined with a pistol shrimp. Paolo normally wears gloves to disguise the long, claw-like nails on the ends of his fingers. They are the remnants of his DNA partner's aquatic claws and cover orifices that can shoot out boiling water almost as hot as the  sun. Less well known is that Paolo can create a sound blast at 200 decibels to stun his opponents.

Paolo is an outstanding fighter, but his true strength is found in his grasp of logistics.

Paolo is quick to stand up for his friends, even when it lands him in hot water, pun intended.

Paolo's less desirable qualities are no sense of numbers or money and a weakness for addictive substances, especially when he deals with his past history of abandonment.

Paolo moves sinuously, wrestles with nightmares, and desperately wants to reunite with his childhood friend who doesn't know about his transformation.

We first meet Paolo in Book 2 of The Human-Hybrid Project, Inside the Darkness.

Julia Cantos gets her infrared heat-sensing ability from her boa constrictor half.

Julia is unearthly tall, a gum fanatic, and talks like a sailor.

We first meet Julia in Book 2 of The Human-Hybrid Project, Inside the Darkness.

Joanie McDonald's defining visual characteristic is her multicolored mohawk hairstyle.

Joanie's DNA combination is not readily apparent. She has been interwoven with a jellyfish in the attempt to create a human being that can live virtually forever, reverting to a younger, fresher version of itself when it faces imminent death. This ability has yet to be tested successfully.

Joanie's obvious strength is her ability to evaluate a situation and make a decision. She walks with a swagger, cuts off her sentences in half phrases, and was addicted to chewing tobacco before her hybridization. Now, she pops mints like candy.

Joanie is a born leader, and the hybridized humans in her group are quick to offer her their full loyalty and trust.

We first meet Joanie in Book 2 of The Human-Hybrid Project, Inside the Darkness.

Giselle Harmon first meets Garik Shayk at an event on the Corona Mall. She is wearing a pirate mask, so her face is hidden.

Garik recognizes her the next time he meets her by the way she rests her chin in her hand and holds her head. Giselle is a tease, and she likes to flirt. It is part of her personality but also a ploy for Paolo Leveen's affection. She has a crush on Paolo, even though she knows his heart belongs to his childhood friend he left behind when he entered the human-hybrid project.

Giselle's ability is to liquify and resolidify her body, a characteristic derived from her sea cucumber DNA. Giselle knows she is beautiful and plays it for all she is worth.

We first meet Giselle in Book 2 of The Human-Hybrid Project, Inside the Darkness.
