Halo Sunchaser

Halo Sunchaser was the third successfully hybridized human to complete the transformation to a new and improved race of human being. She likes to think of herself as homo superior, a class above ordinary homo sapiens.

Sunchaser is known for her electrified sword, although few people have seen her wield it. The specifications for the lightning-spitting weapon can be found on the Corona Tower website, although no one has been able to duplicate it. Clearly, Marisa Bruni believes, the Tower has left out a vital layer of the schematics in order to defeat duplication of the fantastic device.

From South Africa, Sunchaser has ebony skin, and her features reflect that she has been modified with a hawk. She is a bonafide researcher in the human-hybrid field as a molecular biologist. She also trains in martial arts and desires to become an instructor in her free time. At one time, Sunchaser was a research assistant for Jantzen Hefferly, and she struggles with an undisclosed passion for her former boss which she can never admit.

Sunchaser's parents were killed in the South Africa race riots, and she wants to bring her grandmother to North America for treatment for a blood disorder. Her older brother Bongani is a South African senator, and they haven’t spoken since he accused her of being a traitor to the Cause when she left the country for North America. He holds the power to recall her to South Africa if he discovers she is part of the research program, the reason her electrified sword remains closeted and her transformation is kept secret.

Sunchaser travels to martial arts competitions with a tribal mask carved by her father. In it, she carries a temporary antidote that keeps her non-human side under control while out and about.

We first meet Halo Sunchaser in Book 1 of The Human-Hybrid Project, Shattered by Glass.
