The Robeson Building housed a technology company for the first twenty years of its existence, but they crashed and burned in a Stock Market downturn, leaving the building for sale or lease.

A perfect opportunity for Dieter Schafer's father for conversion into an indoor skate park for his son.

The building is an open-span structure finished out with a small office with windows fronting the street, a kitchenette, and a half bath in the break area. It is in an older part of Bay City, located at Royal and Coolidge, near Bay City Industrial Park. The Ransom Building is 8 blocks west, but Royal doesn't cross the powerline right-of-way. You must go south on Powerline Drive to the Avenue G Bridge, west over the right-of-way, then north one block on Connel. The Ransom splits Connel into north and south. You will need to travel Summit Ct. W around the Ransom to get back on Connel to head into Uptown and Corona Tower.

The Robeson is 5 blocks from Kang's Garage on Meyers, 9 blocks from Bay City Medical (via Industrial), and 8 blocks from First Street, which leads to Sycamore and down to The Docks and Harbor Shipyards.

We first visit the Robeson Building in Book 4 of The Human-Hybrid Project, Reflections of the Silverback.

LUCKY! Station, more commonly known as LUCKY!, is located at Powerline Drive, Hoover, and Cowden.

LUCKY! has one thing going for it: Location, Location, Location! Situated at one of two overpasses that bridge the powerline right-of-way, it covers a two-block long wedge of land left when the right-of-way ripped through the existing city infracture, leaving half- and quarter-blocks along its length. The Station is on a tapering wedge of land, perfect for a store and a long row of pumps.

LUCKY! provides fuel and a selection of snack goods, plus a fair choice of refrigerated items. It's also a convenient stop off for visitors to Bay City Medical, as Cowden dead-ends at the medical complex.

Cowden (and LUCKY!) is central to Garik's pre-Tower life. Upon crossing the Cowden Street Bridge, Cowden becomes Avenue C. Follow Avenue C west from LUCKY! for 5 blocks, and we come to Connel Street Skate Park, a favorite summertime haunt for Garik. Another 6 blocks west reveals The Flower Shop, the store owned and operated by the parents of Garik's girlfriend, Marisa. Yet another 4 blocks west brings us to City View Apartments, where Garik's aunt Irina lives and where Garik has resided since his arrival from his native Russia.

We first learn of LUCKY! Station in Book 4 of The Human-Hybrid Project, Reflections of the Silverback.

The Bay City Transportation Department is one of those essential services that keep the city humming.

From road work to traffic light repair, the transportation department does it all.

Located at Second and McKinley, the transportation department consumes an entire city block, so it also fronts Third and Douglas. The address and main entrance is on McKinley.

The city block that makes up the transportation department is mostly given over to an open lot surrounded by a high fence for storing seasonal-use vehicles, such as snow-removal machines and the such. A satellite or drone view reveals a number of tarped vehicles in storage. The shape of each tarp depends on the season.

A large warehouse fills the rest of the city block, with an office block, large workspace, and storage facilities.

We first encounter the Bay City Transportation Department in Book 6 of The Human-Hybrid Project, Taking the Tower.

First United Congregation Church is more often shortened to First United Church, or simply First United.

First United is located on Thomas Road, a thoroughfare that runs 20 blocks from the Corona Tower in the north to the Ransom Communications Building on the south side of the city. On the south side of the Ransom, Thomas continues for a number of additional blocks, becoming what is informally called Far South Thomas.

First United takes up its entire block, with Thomas to the west, Connel to the east, and Fourth and Third north and south, respectively. The church has one of the most prominent spires in the city and enjoys a range of volunteer bell ringers to man the bells on special occasions.

First United is 2 blocks off Sycamore, 5 from Park Avenue, 10 from Corona Tower, and 10 from the Ransom Building, giving it a very central location in Bay City. With its easy access to Sycamore, many of the most influential members of Bay City society attend First United.

First United sits in what many people consider prime Bay City real estate. The Bay City Transportation Depot is three blocks away at Second and McKinley; the Police Department is 2 block north and 5 east between Eisenhower and Park Avenue; City Hall can be reached by going 3 blocks north along Connel, and Old City Hall is less than 5 blocks away at First and Sycamore.

Visitors to Bay City often receive directions starting with, "See the First United spire? From there ..." or, "If you get lost, look for the First United spire. From there, you can get anywhere."

We first visit First United Congregation Church in Book 4 of The Human-Hybrid Series, Reflections of the Silverback.

Bay City Airport sits outside Bay City proper.

With Bay City inside a concave bowl cupping the shore around The Docks and Harbor Shipyards, there is no good location for an airport runway within Bay City. The shorefront lies north and the Air Force base stretches to the west. East of Bay City is forested and good for logging but not much else.

That leaves the airport one direction. South.

Sycamore south past Avenue M and Stanwick Hill levels off in the suburbs to form fingerling highways that branch off inland into less dramatic areas of the state. About 40 minutes out, the airport grows on the horizon before the first road signs appear.

The single passenger terminal is shaped like an airplane wing resting on a long, glass rectangle. Inside is open and airy with suspended mobiles and other artwork hanging from the interior ceiling structure.

A second terminal, more functional in form, caters to the business end of airport life. Trucks from Interstate Transport are in and out of the back entrance to Bay City Airport on an hourly basis.

Garik never visits Bay City Airport in The Human-Hybrid Project, and we don't find it on any city maps, but we hear of Bay City Airport in Book 7, The Rage, where we learn its international status. Bring your passport and travel to exotic destinations, all available within a hour's drive from home!
